Konj

The Konj theatre is known especially for its puppet shows for adults (Napravite mi krsto zanj, Zbogom princ, Peskar, Svetnik Krespel etc.), but in the last couple of years it has also been making puppet shows for children. They started a series of shows about a little crocodile called Kroki, who is a central figure of the cartoon series in the children newspaper Cicido. The shows are directed and artistically designed by director and artist Silvan Omerzu, the winner of the Prešeren sklad award in 2006, and narrated and animated by Ajda Rooss, a puppeteer, director and dramaturge. Children might know her from the children show Zajček Bine (Bine the Little Rabbit), broadcast by national television.

Kroki is a little crocodile, who lives in a little house on the edge of a forest. He has many friends, such as Rabbit Tine, Squirrel Zdenka, Boar Pavle and Owl Urša, who often come to visit Kroki. Tine is Kroki's best friend, every morning he comes to Kroki for a cup of tea and a game of chess. Zdenka is a wonderful chef and a gardener, she helps Kroki manage his garden, and she also makes the best strawberry jam. Pavle is an avid sports fan and Urša is a voracious reader of thick books, and can tell the most wonderful stories.

Stories about Kroki touch upon different issues, such as friendship, compassion, feelings, being different, and our relation towards material things and nature.
